11/25/2023 0 Comments Tekken evo top 8![]() It's too early to announce another fighting game, it's unfortunately probably too late for Samurai Shodown to receive rollback netcode, and there doesn't seem to be a point to make another collection of older titles - considering SNK and Code Mystics have spent the past few years overhauling the existing versions of the big games.Įven though Warner Bros. Ohterwise, nothing else really makes much sense. So that pretty much means SNK could only reveal a peak at KOF15's 4th DLC team or perhaps another bonus character for players like they previously did for Omega Rugal. The obvios answer would have been a gameplay trailer for Team Awakened Orochi as the next DLC team, but they released that last week (plus, the characters are playable at the event). We don't really have to wonder about whether or not SNK is going to have anthing for fans at Evo because Yasuyuki Oda, producer of The King of Fighters 15, already said the developers are "preparing something" to show. That's why we believe that Tekken 8 (or whatever the Tekken team is working on now) will be announced at Evo, especially given the company's long track record of dropping big trailers at the event over the past generation.īasically all of their competition has moved on to the "next generation" of fighters, and it's the right time for Bamco to do the same. There is a chance that Dragon Ball FighterZ isn't done with new content just yet, but Tekken 7 looks to be a finished game now. Like Street Fighter 6, we already did a more in-depth story focusing on what Bamco is most likely to reveal at Evo, and our best guess is it'll be a new game. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is still waiting to receive its rollback netcode update too, which was promised to come sometime this Summer, so Atlus could finally give fans a solid date this weekend as well.īandai Namco was the biggest question mark going into Evo since they were one of the few developers not to confirm they'd have anything to show beforehand, but the Evo Lounge reveal changed that. ![]() So Evo seems like the perfect place to give players a look at what's coming next to DNF, and we suggest keeping an eye on the Evo Lounge streams for that most likely. Nexon hasn't announced whether the recently released DNF Duel will be receiving additional characters through DLC, but considering basically every new fighter these days do, it should be coming sooner rather than later. Our expectation is that at least 1 of Strive's Season 2 fighters will get a full trailer and release date for the game's finals, and considering how long we've been waiting, there's a good chance the second DLC will be at least teased.īeyond Guilty Gear, there's a few more ArcSys titles not on the mainstage that have a strong shot of being included in the festivities too. It's possible the first new DLC character could be teased there, but we believe right now it's more likely to be information regarding when cross-platform play is officially coming to Strive, which players have been waiting for. Through the Evo Lounge streams too, there's a good chance Capcom could drop more information about SF6's single-player World Tour mode, and if we're extra lucky maybe a release date after Street Fighter 5's finals - but we wouldn't hold our breath for that yet.Įither way, there should be plenty of new SF6 information to sink our teeth into.Īrc System Works has already confirmed they are going to share new Season 2 details for Guilty Gear Strive at their panel Friday, August 5, at 10 a.m. ![]() The basic gist is though that we're expecting to see at least 2–3 new characters to be unveiled over the weekend with the previously teased Kimberly making the most sense for at least one of them. The top game that many people here are likely waiting to see the most is Street Fighter 6, and Capcom has already made it very apparent that they plan for the game to have a large presence at Evo this year.Īlthough they're obviously not going to willingly spill the beans early, we already do have a larger story going into the expectations for SF6 this weekend that you should look at if you haven't before. So let's delve a bit deeper into the big Evo titles. On top of all that, we can also expect to see a nice chunk of smaller / indie fighting game announcements at Evo too with Arcade1UP and Umbral Core already confirming they have special reveals planned too. Games, Capcom, SNK, and Bandai Namco Entertainment will at least have announcements during their Friday and Saturday live streams plus whatever may be coming during the tournament finals. ![]() Thanks to the reveal of the PlayStation Tournaments: Evo Lounge, however, we can already gauge that Arc System Works, Warner Bros. ![]() Most of Evo's 9 mainstage titles this year appear ready to show off something new, but not all of them. ![]()
